 Christopher Poulson was born in Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal settlement 290 kms north west of Alice Springs. He went to school at the Yuendumu school and then went to Darwin to Kormilda College, an Aboriginal boarding school. After school he trained to be an assistant teach with Batchelor College and returned to Yuendumu where he worked at the school for many years. He then worked at the local Council office where he was a Council Committee member. He continues to be a member of the School Council. Over the years he worked for CDEP, the local work for the dole program. He started painting with Warlukurlangu Artists, the local indigenous owned art centre in 1992. He paints the stories associated with his traditional country. These stories have been passed down to him from his father and his fathers before him for millenia.Christopher is married. He has two children from a previous marriage. He is also a grandfather.
